MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY!

I am Mary Schwartzkopf, currently Mrs. U.S. United 2007 and ....... I was on a mission!!!
My project for MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY is called “SOCKS 2 SHARE!”

I know that right here in Nebraska there are quite a few people who may not own a or a few pairs of socks to keep their feet warm during our COLD WINTERS! It is sad to see a child come to school with just a pair of sneakers on their feet with no socks for warmth or comfort. It is ALSO sad to see people who may be homeless, living in a shelter with hardly anything to keep their feet protected with a pair of socks from the cold. So on MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY, OCTOBER 27^TH, 2007 I collected Socks, NEW or CLEANLY USED Socks from the residents of theLincoln, Nebraska area. I even got help from a great group of women who volunteer on a regular basis, THE WOMEN OF THE MOOSE! The MooseLodge here in Lincoln, has a great women’s group that like to help others!The were eager to help me collect as many socks that I could get for this event! We ended up collecting about 200 prs of socks! Our goal was to cover at least 100 individual set of feet! We did even more than we planned! This was just a couple baskets of what my mission ended up with!
